Nigel Badcock

I’ve always loved music. In highschool I started on the trumpet,
it wasn’t until I picked up a guitar because my mates were playing it that my interest in music really clicked.

A couple of lessons after school and I learnt some 12 bar blues. When I left school, life went in a different direction for awhile, then I bought my first electric guitar, (I didn’t know it then, that I would end up playing in a band with the guy I brought it from!)

Playing everything from Chuck Berry to ACDC. After a while I discovered rockabilly - my favourite style to this day.

A purchase of three albums: Back in Black by ACDC; Dire Straits first LP; Stray Cats - Best of Stray Cats;
the result being the style of Knopfler, Brian Setzer, and players like Scotty Moore and The Johnny Burnette Trio being a huge influence.
Around ‘92 I saw an ad for a jam session at a local hotel, called the organiser who said the two of us should get together beforehand. This bloke was Kev House.
We became the founding members of the Private Investigators, along with keyboardist Rick Miller, Cameron Moore on bass and Rod Swan on drums.
For the next five years we played gigs around the state.
Later on saxaphone replaced the keyboard.
The last few years, Kev and I have been a duo - Badhouse,

playing at private work dinners, parties and BBQs. Now its come full circle and back to a band - it feels great! Playing Fender Stratocaster, Gretsch Hot Rod and using Music Man 100 amp
-endorsements welcome!
